Ski School and Ski Instructor Courses

Why New Generation?

Across the Alps there are many ski and snowboard schools to choose from, so what makes New Generation stand apart?

Award winning

New Generation ski and snowboard school was founded in 1998 and has been growing ever since. Set up by four British instructors, New Generation now employs over 40 highly qualified coaches in eight of the top Alpine resorts.

With New Generation you can be assured you will be taught by an excellent teacher (not just a great skier or snowboarder). Below we have listed the key factors which have contributed to New Generation being voted No.1 Ski & Snowboard School by 'Which Books' (2005) and the 'Snow
Awards' (2004, 2005).

Only fully qualified instructors

New Generation consists of a team of fully qualified and experienced instructors. We have all undergone several years of training and exams to reach full international qualification (this takes around 5 years). Whatever your ability level from beginner to expert, you can be confident that your New Generation coach will help you.

Small and beautiful

Ok we are probably stretching the beautiful bit, but we are small. New Generation operates small ski schools in each of our 9 resorts. We are committed to offering a personal service to all our clients which is why we place such importance on remembering everyone’s name within the first 10 minutes of the lesson. To help us focus on the individual, our groups are small (2 to 8 people) and our technical clinics are even smaller (2 to 6 people).

Always learning

At New Generation we are always hungry to learn more and develop. For example, we were originally a British ski school teaching in the British style. As we have grown and opened schools in different resorts, we have evolved into an international school, attracting similar minded English speaking coaches. We now offer a unique style of coaching that combines the best elements from each country’s coaching system and the best instructors.

Coaching not instruction

We believe great teaching is so much more than simply giving instructions and telling people where they are going wrong. How do we explain this?

Just because you are a good skier does not mean you can coach skiing. If that was the case New Generation would probably not exist! (Phew…). In the same way, just because you and I can speak English does not mean that we can teach it. We have several lesson essentials that are at the core of our coaching:

  • To make you feel comfortable and confident.
  • To understand what you want from the sessions – not everyone wants to ski fast; you are on holiday after all.
  • To give you constructive feedback and tips you can use afterwards.
  • To use simple everyday language we all understand.
  • To use your past experiences to aid understanding (e.g. riding a bike helps you understand pressure control and turning in powder).
  • To help everyone improve and enjoy themselves more.

Please give us your help on a couple of things

The success of our company depends on you, our clients, being happy. Please let us know when we do something right or wrong. Last year 98% of our customers rated us as good or excellent. We did enjoy the results (with a couple of bottles of bubbly) until someone pointed out that we had 2% of our customers who might not recommend us. We react instantly to feedback. We sincerely want you to have an awesome time. We love all snowsports and want everyone to share our passion. Read our feedback on the Independent feedback site - feefo.
