Is Morzine good for beginners?
Morzine is a great place for beginners to learn to ski / snowboard. With a plethora of wide gentle open ski pistes, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding where to cruise next. You’ll next have to ski in the same place twice with over 650km of skiing to explore in the Portes du Soleil.
Is Morzine expensive?
Morzine can be as expensive as you make it! The best thing about Morzine is that there is variety. If you like to eat out, there are plenty of high-end restaurants, but there are also snack bars and budget restaurants with great reviews!
There’s also lots to do for free in Morzine – Les Gets, so make sure you pop into the Tourist Office once you arrive to find out what’s on (in terms of animations) for the week. In School holidays (peak weeks) there is always plenty to keep your family and friends busy, without breaking the bank.

How high is Morzine ski resort?
The ski resort of Morzine sits at 1000m altitude. Which isn’t a high altitude compared to other resorts, so it does lose its snow sooner than other resorts in the springtime when it warms up. But Morzine has easy connections up to the resort of Avoriaz, which sits at 1800m.
Is Morzine snow-sure?
Morzine is a great resort, but due to its altitude it does lose snow quicker than other high ski resorts. But, don’t let that stop you as there are easy connections up to Avoriaz and the rest of the Portes du Soleil ski area.
Is Morzine good for après?
Morzine, les Gets and Avoriaz all have plenty of après-ski options depending on your style:

Most people that use air travel fly into Geneva as it is the closest international airport (only a 65 km drive to Morzine).
How do you get to Morzine?
Fly + transfer
There are shuttle buses from 25-50€ per person, or you can take a private taxi. There are also shuttle bus services from Lyon, Chambery and Grenoble, but for the higher price of between 60-100€ per person.

Train
Alternatively, you can take a train to Cluses or Thonon les bains and then take either a public or shuttle bus or a private taxi into resort.
Drive
If you’ve got an electric car, this can be the cheapest and most carbon friendly way to travel to Morzine. Just check to make sure your hotel or chalet can provide charging points overnight.
How can you get around Morzine?
Within Morzine itself there is a shuttle bus to take you between the telecabine stations of Le Pleney, Super Morzine and Les Prodains. There are also buses between Morzine and the neighbouring resorts of Montrionds, Les Gets, Morzine-Avoriaz and even as far as Le Jotty.
Timetables can be found in the Tourist Office, at the bus stops, from your tour operator and in many of the shops and bars in town.

Morzine for non-skiers
Sledging: There is a sledging slope at the bottom of the Crusaz chairlift that you can access all day. Or for the bit bigger kids, head out sledging at night with a guide on the Pleney ski-slopes after the skiers have left the slopes. From 5:30pm every day.
Swimming: There is a large indoor pool in Morzine as well Aquariaz – a pool with slides, hot tubs and a spar up in Avoriaz.
Cinema Rex: Located on the main Rue du Bourg in Morzine, this cinema shows French films with English subtitles, as well as English films. There is a board outside the cinema showing all the films and times for each week.
