Part of the famous Paradiski area, Les Arcs, gives you access to an impressive 425 kilometres of slopes. It’s made up of four villages—Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950, and Arc 2000—each with its own vibe to suit different tastes.
Arc 1600, the original village, exudes a cosy charm that’s perfect for families or anyone seeking relaxation. Its compact size results in shorter lift lines, allowing you to maximize your time on the slopes. Thanks to the funicular, accessing this gem from Bourg-Saint-Maurice is a breeze. However, if vibrant nightlife is what you seek, this may not be the ideal spot for you.
In contrast, Arc 1800 is the largest and most vibrant village, perfect for those who thrive in a lively après-ski atmosphere. Packed with bars, restaurants, and shops, it offers ample entertainment options. Arc 1950 is renowned for its picturesque pedestrian streets, seamlessly blending luxury with convenience. It’s an excellent choice for families or anyone desiring a premium experience, especially with its ski-in/ski-out access. At the highest altitude, Arc 2000 guarantees exceptional snow conditions and is a haven for advanced skiers. It features some of the most challenging runs in the region. While nightlife is subdued here, the emphasis is firmly on skiing, appealing to those who prioritize the slopes.
Getting to Les Arcs is straightforward, with Bourg-Saint-Maurice serving as the main entry point by train. A scenic funicular ride ascends to Arc 1600, and if you’re driving, the resort is well-connected, with parking available in each village. The nearest airports—Geneva, Lyon, and Chambéry—offer regular shuttle services for hassle-free transportation. The snow in Les Arcs is reliably maintained by snow cannons, ensuring excellent coverage throughout the season. Arc 2000’s elevation guarantees fantastic snow quality, and the diverse terrain across the villages caters to all skill levels, from beginners to experts.
The resort’s focus on sustainability is impressive, with eco-friendly initiatives that really boost its charm. With a range of villages and a huge ski area, Les Arcs has something for everyone, no matter your skiing style or skill level. Whether you’re heading out with family and friends or going solo, Les Arcs guarantees a fantastic alpine adventure.
