Kids:

• Wallabies to Arrows will need the Peisey-Vallandry Pass.
• Bombers will need the Peisey-Vallandry Pass, but may need to upgrade to the Les Arcs Pass if looking to go further afield / upon our instructors advice.
• Rockets to Pro-riders will need the Les Arcs Pass.

Adults:

• Adult Levels 1-3 will need the Peisey-Vallandry pass. An extension for the Les Arcs Pass can be bought later in the week if needed.
• Adult Level 4 will need the Les Arcs Pass.
• Adults on our Off-Piste Courses will need the Les Arcs Pass, but may wish to extend to the Paradiski Pass.

Airport Transfers

If you’re arriving by air then you’ll probably fly into either Grenoble, Lyon or Geneva. The following transfer companies offer airport transfers, either private or sometimes shared:

Drive

It’s about a 9hr drive once in France to reach Peisey Vallandry. The benefits of driving are no luggage restrictions and the option of an extra day skiing during a week’s holiday but the tolls can be quite pricey on the motorways so something to consider.

Train

Eurostar runs direct day trains to the French Alps on Saturdays between December-April and direct night trains on Fridays from January-April.

Trains leave from St Pancras International in London and Ashford in Kent, direct to Bourg-Saint-Maurice then you can use the funicular and the free shuttle buses to get around Les Arcs area, or get a taxi or transfer up to Peisey Vallandry.

There’s plenty to keep non-skiers busy in Peisey & Vallandry. From tobogganing to paragliding, dog sledding to the or igloo village, there is something for everyone in your group.

Mille8 – La Piscine – Arc 1800: This huge 3800m² centre incorporates an outdoor and indoor swimming pool, water jets, bubble beds, massage jets, fitness room with gym and cardio equipment, spa with 2 steam rooms and 2 saunas, relaxation room and showers.

Centre Équestre Ranch El Colorado: The “Ranch El Colorado” equestrian centre is open all year round and offers activities based around the horse in an enjoyable atmosphere: rides, riding lessons and courses. carriage driving, ski jeering and riding shows.

Other activities you can try out are snowshoeing, walking routes, spas, visits to churches and chapels as well as Baroque Paths, farm visits, and much more. You can find more details here.

Peisey and Vallandry are not considered expensive ski resorts. Of course, you can make your holiday expensive by eating at high end restaurants and staying in private, catered chalets. But you can also stay in apartments, self catered chalets and eat at the local family-style restaurants.

Vallandry is linked to the huge Paradiski ski area, which means that the mountain never feels crowded. With such high tech lifts and organised pistes, the flow of skiers and boarders around the mountain makes for less queuing and a good time. In Vallandry itself, there are only 9 lifts, 1 green slope (it’s over 7km long don’t worry), 13 blue slopes, 9 red slopes and 2 black slopes. There’s also some great ski touring and off-piste for more advanced riders.

Vallandry and its neighbouring village of Peisey are intimate uncrowded ski areas tucked away in the woods. The forest shelters the resort and the trees provide good skiing for a day of low visibility or high winds.

Peisey Vallandry is part of the Paradiski ski area which has over 70% of the slopes over 2000m. There is also two glaciers within the ski area, which are available to ski on in the winter, so Peisey Vallandry is a great option for your next ski holiday.

Peisey Vallandry is also nestled besides a large forest so it gets a certain amount of protection from the trees. The terrain is well maintained and beginners have plenty of cruisey blues and a green run which is over 7km long! Talk about the perfect place to practice your turns and build confidence as a beginner skier!

Peisey Vallandry is a lovely ski resort for families. It’s super easy to get to; located close proximity of Geneva, Chambery & Lyon airports. And we truly believe it’s one of the hidden gems in France. You get the intimate family feel with access to the vast mountains of the Paradiski ski area connecting you to La Plagne & Les Arcs via the Vanoise Express.

There is plenty to do in Vallandry for families, including plenty of animations put on during school holidays, large swimming complexes and plenty of spots for a quiet hot chocolate and a snack.

If you ever fancy a break from the slopes, the best place to eat is La Bergerie de Raphael, which serves up traditional French cuisine. Basically as much cheese as you can consume! If you want a quick pit stop on the slopes then head to Aux Enfants Terrible. It’s located just below the top of the Vallandry lift which is ideal for pedestrians wishing to join their skiing friends at the pub for lunch or après ski.
