Get to Know Laurids

Hello! I’m Laurids Torp Carlsen, and skiing has been a central part of my life since I was three years old. Growing up between Denmark and the picturesque slopes of California, I was fortunate to learn from both my parents and skilled instructors. Now, as an ISIA Level 3 instructor, I am excited to share my passion for skiing with others.

For me, skiing transcends being just a sport; it is a lifelong journey and a fulfilling career. Over the years, I have navigated various terrains, embracing everything except freestyle. My favourite memories on the slopes are countless, but what truly stands out is the camaraderie and joy of skiing alongside friends and students.

Becoming a ski instructor was a natural decision for me. I find immense joy in teaching this incredible sport and making it more enjoyable for people from all walks of life. There’s nothing more rewarding than witnessing the progress and smiles of my students as they conquer new challenges.

When I’m not on the slopes, I pursue other sports like running, cycling, swimming, and tennis. Additionally, I run a small company specialising in ski and winter clothing, which allows me to blend my love for skiing with my entrepreneurial aspirations.
