Kids Ski Lessons in Lech

Wallabies

Designed specifically for older children eager to learn skiing in the stunning surroundings of Lech. Whether it’s their first time on the slopes or they’ve had a previous intro session, we’re here to help them master the snowplough turn.

While enjoyment and safety remain our top priorities, the older age group allows us to place a greater emphasis on skill development.

We also aim to foster a sense of self-responsibility, giving kids a sense of autonomy from the start. Teaching them to carry their own skis, reset bindings, and get back up after a tumble may seem like small steps, but it empowers them and boosts their confidence—plus, your back will appreciate it too.

Arrows

In our Arrows group children will move beyond the nursery slopes and dive into the stunning terrain of the Lech ski area. A lift pass will be necessary from day one.

We’ll concentrate on skiing parallel in the second half of the turn, then venture into the fun of rollers, bumps, and jumps unique to Lech’s landscape.

As the week progresses, the group will confidently tackle the beautiful blue runs, learning exciting tricks like box slides and skiing backwards, while linking jumps and features together.

Our team will also emphasise essential safety tips, including the best spots to stop on the mountain and crucial checks before heading out into the breathtaking slopes of Lech.

Bombers

Ideal for intermediate skiers, our Bombers program gradually introduces the skills needed to enhance speed and performance.

From day one, participants will explore our fantastic snow parks, honing their balance and coordination while learning exciting tricks like a 180 flat spin on gentle slopes. We focus on building foundational movement patterns essential for skills such as side slipping, hockey stops, absorbing bumps, and skating on skis.

As these foundations solidify, children will naturally ski with more dynamism, gaining the confidence to tackle steeper and more challenging terrain.

Our experienced instructors also emphasise the knowledge necessary for safe skiing outside of lessons. We explain the meaning of piste markers, how to avoid getting lost, the rules of Snowparks, and the etiquette of overtaking other skiers and right-of-way considerations—essential skills for family outings or skiing with friends in the stunning surroundings of Lech.

Rockets

In our Rockets group we build on the parallel skiing skills developed in the bombers program. It’s completely normal for kids to spend a couple of seasons in Rockets before advancing to our FreeRide Team.

We’ll focus on refining turn shapes and sizes, mastering long parallel turns, and linking short turns. We’ll also introduce pole plants and edge rolls to elevate their skiing performance.

In the snowparks, our young skiers will tackle bigger jumps, learn how to land safely and in balance, and practice exciting tricks like the 5050 box slide and 360 flat spins on green runs.

By the end of their time in the Rockets, students will confidently navigate black runs, make basic carved turns, and begin exploring variable snow conditions. This is also when many parents join us for lessons to keep up with their kids.

As your child’s confidence and independence grow, it’s crucial that their mountain awareness develops as well. Our instructors will guide them on safely leading a group down the mountain, identifying safe spots to stop and start, and being mindful of other skiers. We also cover essential accident procedures, including how to contact the Piste Patrol, what information to provide, and how to communicate their location.

Freeride

Our Freeride team are focused on their piste performance while gradually expanding their skills into all-mountain skiing. Typically, children will enjoy at least two seasons in our FreeRide program, which is a fantastic opportunity to forge new friendships.

On the pistes, our team will focus on confidently tackling black runs, ensuring they maintain control at all times, and working on building edge grip earlier in the turn. On gentler slopes, the emphasis will be on executing higher-performance carved turns while exploring how to manipulate turn shapes to manage speed effectively.

In the terrain park, we will concentrate on consistently clearing the flats on jumps and starting to link switch (backwards) parallel turns. Additionally, our team will develop techniques for skiing in the variable terrain off the sides of the piste, teaching students how to assess which drops, jumps, and lines are safe to ski, along with practicing small natural drops and learning to spot landings.

Navigation skills are also essential for their growth, and our instructors will ensure that each student becomes proficient in navigating the resort using a piste map. We encourage families to engage in this practice together while skiing at Lech, enhancing the experience as a group.

Proride

Welcome to the pinnacle of our kids programme in Lech. Our dedicated team of coaches is here to guide you through the journey to achieve your Gold Star and earn a coveted New Generation Team Trucker. Most students will take at least two seasons to reach this milestone.

On the slopes, we’ll focus on mastering black runs in all conditions, experimenting with various turn shapes to control speed. Our goal is to tackle fall-line descents of mogul fields, integrating pole plants at a steady pace.

To equip you for off-piste skiing, we’ll also refine techniques for navigating ice, powder, variable snow, sun crust, and narrow gullies/couloirs. Rescue simulations will include using transceivers, shovels, and probes, where students will practice locating and rescuing a hypothetical victim within 6 minutes.

Once you’ve mastered the fundamentals, we’ll venture off-piste, enhancing your technique and tackling bigger drops while learning how to safely lead groups.

Please Note: Our ProRide Team will ski off-piste when conditions are favourable. We provide a complete avalanche safety kit on those days and include training on using this equipment as part of all ProRide sessions.
