Learning to ski is an exhilarating experience that you shouldn’t miss out on. However, attempting to learn on your own or with friends can be challenging and may end up being frustrating. We recommend taking ski lessons from a professional instructor who can guide you to stay safe on the slopes that suit your skill level. You’ll learn crucial skills to remain in control while skiing and have fun with our team of passionate instructors who love to share their knowledge with you.

Our group ski lessons last a few hours each day, allowing you ample time to ski with your friends and family. Our experienced instructors will introduce you to the fundamentals of skiing and explain various techniques in a way that’s easy to understand and follow.

Level 1 Ski Group Lessons

If you’re new to skiing, joining our group sessions is the best way to get started. Learning in a friendly and sociable environment with others who are also learning makes the experience less daunting.

You don’t need to worry about being a beginner, everyone in the group is new to skiing. The lessons are only 2 hours daily, which means you’ll still have plenty of time to ski with your friends and family, so you won’t miss out on anything.

Learning from a professional instructor is the fastest way to progress, and they have years of experience and tips for dealing with challenges and selecting the right terrain for your ability. Remember, lessons are the key to having a great first experience on skis.

Level 2 Ski Group Lessons

If you can confidently perform snowplough turns on green runs but still struggle with parallel turns on blue runs, our Level 2 lessons are perfect for you. These lessons will boost your confidence and equip you with the skills to explore more of the mountain quickly and gracefully.

During the lessons, you’ll have the opportunity to use a variety of lifts, including chairlifts, drag lifts, gondolas, and magic carpets. This knowledge and practice will help you gain more confidence in using all types of lifts.

You’ll start moving around the mountain smoothly, feeling more in control and less awkward. You’ll also work on perfecting your snowplough on different terrains and slopes. Once you’ve mastered the snowplough and are ready to go faster, you can move up to Level 3.

What to Expect From a Beginner Ski Lesson

When you arrive for your first lesson, an energetic and friendly instructor will greet you, making you feel at ease and excited about the experience. During a group lesson, you and the other beginners will spend a few hours each day learning to put on your gear, get up the hill, and slide back down while controlling your speed and direction. As the days pass, you will move onto more challenging terrain and begin to explore new techniques. The aim for the end of the week is to be up and moving, feeling in control and more confident.

Tips for Beginner Ski Lessons

Ensure you’ve comfortable boots that fit well and are the right size.
Ensure your skis are in good condition and serviced (this should be done by the hire shop.)
Learning a new skill can be tiring, regardless of age or ability. Take breaks, as your legs will tire.
Mileage and confidence are key for new skiers. So, practice outside your lessons. Start on terrain you feel good on. Then, gradually increase the difficulty. Ensure you have solid foundations. Then, take on new skills and steeper, harder terrain.
If something knocks your confidence, try again the next day. Don’t give up. If you’d prefer coaching for one person, we recommend booking a private lesson. You will get more time with the instructor to receive personalised feedback.
Ensure you arrive at least 10 minutes early to the meeting point so lessons run on time.

We hand-pick our instructors. They must be incredible at teaching and working with people. They must also love the sport and speak English well.

Every instructor must speak great English. But we can teach in over 20 languages. So, contact us if you have a specific request.

We’re sorry if you can’t make the lessons you’ve booked. But, if you do not attend, we can’t refund or reschedule. We’re happy to provide a letter for your insurance company in this instance. If you miss a day of a group lesson, it’s fine to come back the next day. But, you may find yourself behind the rest of the group. If it’s appropriate, we may need to move you down a level.
