We’re passionate about delivering incredible mountain experiences. We’ve got over 20 years’ experience helping people develop technique, build confidence, and have fun. In that time, we’ve learned what makes a good trip great, and it’s the little things that count. So whether you’re a skier or boarder, it’s your first time, or your fiftieth, our team are on-hand to make sure it runs like clockwork. You are on holiday after all!

Our Story

We started New Generation in 1998 with a precise aim: to make ski lessons awesome and help people have fun. 25 years later, that still holds true.

New Generation was born in Courchevel by four instructors keen to do something different. Back when ski coaching was a different beast, we were one of the first independent ski schools in the Alps. Times have changed, and our competition has most certainly got stronger. But what hasn’t changed is our desire to make skiing fun and to provide the best possible experience for our guests.

Since those early days, we’ve grown across ski resorts in France, Switzerland and Austria. Each offers the same New Generation experience while providing a local, small team feel. So whether you’re in Méribel or Morzine, Verbier or Val d’Isère, you’ll get the same service, smile and support.

  • 1998

    New kid on the block

    Four instructors decided to do something different and started New Gen in Courchevel 1650, one of the first independent ski schools in the Alps.

  • 2000

    Partnered up with Ellis Brigham & The North Face

    Our awesome sponsors, who still supply us today with our high-quality, slick-looking uniforms each winter.

  • 2001

    BASI stamp of approval

    We became an official business partner of the British Association of Snowsports Instructors.

  • 2004

    Our instructor training centre started

    Our individual, tailored approach to instruction went one step further when we started running our instructor training courses.

  • 2006

    Expanded to Switzerland

    We opened our first ski school outside of France in Verbier, Switzerland.

  • 2011

    10 resorts strong

    We opened in our 10th resort, in St Martin de Belleville, and were operating out of the Three Valleys, Espace Killy and Paradiski at this point.

  • 2012

    New Gen got a new look

    We swapped out our retro galactic logo for something more modern but playful and fun. You can see our updated branding on our website today.

  • 2013

    100 Instructors on the hill

    We were really growing at this point and toppled over the 100 instructors mark.

  • 2015

    Giving back

    We believe the businesses have the power to do good. This was driving force behind the beginning of our Charity Giving initiative.

  • 2016

    Hello Austria!

    We decided to swap out fondue for schnitzel when we opened our first Austrian ski school in St Anton.

  • 2020

    Sprichst du Deutsch?

    We’ve expanded into the German language market! We’re now offering German instruction in our Austrian ski resorts.

Our Partners

We’re proud to be partners with industry-leading organisations. We’re an official BASI (British Association of Snowsports Instructors) partner, with many of our team BASI trainers and mentors. We’ve also recently been selected as the Ski Club of Great Britain’s preferred ski school partner. And we work with Ellis Brigham who provide our instructor uniforms each year.

Our Values

Our values are at the heart of what we do. These aren’t just words written on a wall (in fact, they aren’t on any wall). They were decided on as a team and reflect what’s important to us. Our Team

We’re proud to be a diverse team with a variety of nationalities represented. Our instructors have unique backgrounds and bring different perspectives to New Gen. And because of that, we get to learn from one another’s experiences.

Our Giving Initiatives

We believe all businesses have the power to create positive change, and a responsibility to do more than just make money. For us, it’s about going to work, and knowing what we’re doing has a bigger impact beyond our ski lessons. This is why we donate a portion of each lesson sold to charitable organisations.
