Tignes Off Piste Courses

Tignes

Tignes, part of the Espace Killy ski area, is renowned for its varied and extensive off-piste terrain. The resort’s unique blend of diverse terrain, reliable snow conditions, and breathtaking scenery makes it an incredible base for off-piste courses.

The resort has everything from vast open faces to challenging couloirs and hidden powder stashes, making it the perfect playground for experienced skiers and snowboarders. If you know where to look, there is also some incredible tree skiing.

Some of the most popular ski routes include Les Vallon de la Sache, an off-piste paradise with varied difficulties; the Couloir du Chardonnet, known for its excellent snow and stunning views; the Petite Balme, featuring playful drops and consistent snow from November to May; and the Couloirs des Tufs, a challenging area for advanced riders.

The altitude ensures reliable snow conditions, and a large amount of the off-piste is quickly and easily accessible from the lifts, with limited hiking.

The course doesn’t include accommodation, but Tignes offers a wide range of options, from budget-friendly apartments to luxury chalets. So, you can choose the type of accommodation that suits your needs and budget. However, unless you have a car, we don’t suggest staying in Tignes les Brevieres.

What to Expect

Our Advanced Off-Piste course is for skiers who already understand the mountains and their potential hazards. Our team will introduce you to the best off-piste runs and help you find the best snow. You’ll also work on improving your technique and confidence, unlocking more challenging off-piste terrain, and skiing with power and style.

What You’ll Cover:

  • Advanced Techniques – Develop effective skills for skiing in diverse conditions. These include powder, sun crust, narrow gullies or couloirs, variable snow, and ice.
  • Tactical Skills – Improve your ability to ski smoothly. Choose the best lines through trees and tight spaces. Boost your confidence on exposed terrain. And master controlling your speed with precise turns.

Note: This course focuses on guiding and ski technique. It doesn’t include avalanche or safety training or drills. You’ll get real-time technical feedback as you ski. This allows for immediate improvement and enjoyment.

Requirements:

  • Fitness Level Required – You can ski for 6 hours in off-piste and variable conditions, with breaks. You can recover from falls on your own.

Off Piste Ski

“One of my best weeks ever on snow! One of the best weeks on snow I’ve ever had! Julien did such a fantastic job of working out where to ski. He introduced us to some fabulous off piste in Val d’Isere even finding some fresh powder. His care and professionalism was evident throughout.”
