Chez Simon
Chez Simon is loved for its family feel and traditional cuisine made using fresh, seasonal produce from its garden.
It’s situated in the heart of the Etablons pastures at La Tzoumaz. Enjoy the sunshine on the terrace and grab some takeaway sandwiches outside, or enjoy the warmth inside with traditional Swiss cuisine and epic views.
As John, a regular skier with New Generation Ski and Snowboard School, says, ‘Chez Simon’s Croûte aux fromages is the perfect midday recharge.’
Access: Right beside the Le Nord chair lift if you’re skiing, or you can get there on snowshoe or ski touring if you don’t have a lift pass.

Buvette Des Etablons
Buvette Des Etablons, nestled in the nature reserve, is a local favourite. It’s not fancy but precisely what you need when you’re ready for a quick break.
It’s more of a bar than a restaurant, but they serve snacks if you’re after a bite.
The bar is perfect for an aperitif or after-ski drink, as it’s the last pit stop on the mountain before heading back to La Tzoumaz. The vin chaud is punchy and will have you dancing in your ski boots before you know it. We recommend their fresh and herby Hugo Spritz cocktail when the warmer weather arrives. You’ll often find our team here, enjoying a drink before heading down the mountain.

Cabane du Mont-Fort
A traditional Swiss mountain refuge perched at an altitude of 2457m. It has a great location on the piste, yet it feels remote. It overlooks the long valley underneath the jumbo gondola. You’ll see the Bec des Rosses (3222m) from the refuge, the freeride face commonly used for the Freeride World Tour every March.
The Cabane du Mont-Fort is famous for its local dishes, particularly fondue and rösti, and it offers hot meals all day. It’s the quintessential alpine experience – rustic, charming, and offering delicious, hearty food.
Access: The Cabane du Mont-Fort is on the Gentianes red run. If you need help perfecting your turns to tackle a red run, contact our Verbier team, who can help take your skiing to the next level. Our knowledgeable instructors can help you build confidence and give you the skills and knowledge to navigate lunch at the Cabane du Mont-Fort.
It’s relatively affordable, with meals ranging from CHF 25-50 per person. We recommend the röstis (a fried mixture of grated potatoes and diced bacon) with a bowl of soup and extra cheese. Finishing up with a tarte aux myrtilles and an espresso.

Ô Caboulis
This restaurant is slightly further away from Verbier, so it’s a long ski, but it’s worth it. It’s situated in Veysonnaz and overlooks Sion, with beautiful vineyards on the other side of the valley.
It’s best known for its pasta dishes, stews, soups, and steaks. We highly recommend the pasta dishes and soups on a cold day. They also have great children’s options and a playground to keep them entertained, so it’s a hit for the whole family. And if you’re sitting outside on the terrace, the best seats are up in the crow’s nest, where your beers travel to you via a gondola across the decking.
Access: Hurtle down the Mayens ski slope. It’s impossible to resist a short stop at Les Caboulis.

They play great music but aren’t too loud, so you can still converse while having a boogie. The terrace is south-facing, and the scenery, as expected for the Swiss Alps, is exceptional.
The kitchen is open non-stop, so if you’re peckish a little later in the afternoon, it shouldn’t be a problem. We recommend the Salad Chevre Chaud if you’re sick after a lighter alternative to fondue, rostis and pasta, Or try their speciality dish, L’Avalanche.
