Get to know Davide

Hi, I’m Davide, or as some people call me, Diuz. I’ve been skiing since the age of 3, when my mum first introduced me to the slopes.

I didn’t grow up in the mountains, but I always loved spending holidays in the snow, and by 14, I had moved to the mountains full-time to pursue ski racing. With support from my family, I competed at a regional state team level across all four racing disciplines, though slalom was always my favourite.

Now, with 11 years of instructing experience under my belt, I’m proud to work as a fully qualified Italian Maestro di Sci, a BASI Level 4 instructor, and a BASI trainer. I teach in Tignes and Val d’Isère, offering lessons in piste skiing, off-piste skiing, race training, and ski touring in English, French, and Italian.

When I’m not teaching, I’m all about steep skiing, ski touring and exploring incredible terrain. Skiing the Couloir des Italiens on my favourite mountain, La Grande Casse, is the best ski memory that I have to date.

Off the slopes, I stay active with a mix of sports like cycling, climbing, golf, mountain biking, and even surfing. During the summer, I run a mountain restaurant with my girlfriend on the ski slopes of Sestriere and work with our small eco-business, SKINSBELTS, which recycles ski touring skins into belts.
