Get to know me

Hello! I’m Frederik Blinkenberg, but you can call me Fred. My adventure with skiing began at eight, inspired by spirited Norwegians. Over the years, my style evolved with the technical influence of Austrians and the free-spirited flair of Canadians. Born in a flat country, my heart always chased the mountains, leading me to ski across five countries on two continents.

Since my first season in Austria in 2021-2022, I’ve grown from a below-average skier to achieving Landes 2, fueled by hard work and passion. As a technical all-mountain skier, I love navigating challenging terrains and slushy bumps.

One cherished memory is being yelled at in Norwegian by my instructor as a kid, skiing through trees with the song “Barbra Streisand” blasting from his backpack. Moments like these ignited my passion for skiing and teaching. My love for skiing and desire to share this joy led me to become an instructor. Seeing students progress and develop a love for the slopes is immensely fulfilling.

In summer, I keep busy with work and stay active through strength training and Muay Thai. I also enjoy cooking, wine, and cigars. Having completed basic service in the Danish army, I’m now pursuing a career in law. Although an extreme introvert at heart, the mountains let me express my love for skiing and teaching. I’m excited to inspire others to fall in love with skiing as I have.
