From struggling on blue slopes to riding black slopes in one hour

"My partner and I had a joint 3h snowboard lesson with James. Prior to the lesson I identified myself as beginner/intremediate with 5 years of experiance (my partner is a better snowboarder but it worked well to have the joint lesson). I went from struggling in the blue slopes to ridning a black one in a matter of an hour (I was in shock)! It was truly worth the time and money to get the right technic that otherwise could have taken me years to figurer out solo. I have only good things to say about James that made the lesson so easy even though the weather conditions were horrendous. :)"

Get to know James

Hello! I’m James, and my love affair with the slopes began when I was just four years old. Taught by a charming French instructor during a holiday in France, skiing and snowboarding quickly became my passion. Although I didn’t grow up in the mountains, I spent countless holidays skiing in France, Italy, and Austria.

Over the years, I’ve expanded my horizons beyond Europe, competing in Freeride snowboarding events in both Japan and New Zealand. One of my most rewarding experiences was teaching the Chinese Olympic snowboard team in China. Free riding is my go-to escape during my free time, and nothing compares to night skiing in Japan’s endless powder—a memory etched in my heart.

Becoming a ski and snowboard instructor was a natural choice for me. There’s an unmatched joy in teaching others new skills while soaking in the beauty of the outdoors. Meeting people from across the globe, each with unique stories and backgrounds, adds richness to my work. Watching students improve and fall in love with skiing and snowboarding is incredibly fulfilling.

Outside of winter, I work as a greenkeeper at the St. Anton golf course. I’m also a squash and football coach, showcasing my love for sports beyond the slopes.
