Get to know John

Hi, I’m John and I’ve been living my ski instructor dream for over 34 years—completing 45 seasons across incredible resorts in Andorra, Australia, and France. It may surprise you to know I started skiing a bit later than most, at the age of 23. Growing up on a potato farm in the rolling fields of Northamptonshire, UK, I never thought that my life would take me to the mountains. Yet here I am.

Whether you’re taking your first turns or looking to fine-tune your carving technique, I’m here to make it happen in stunning spots like La Plagne, Peisey Vallandry, and Les Arcs.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll most likely find me ski-touring far from the lifts. My best skiing memory is passing my final instructor exams at the end of the last century.

When the snow melts, I shift gears (literally) in the summer, organising and guiding road cycling tours across Europe. Cycling is one of my biggest passions, along with golf and watching football. I’m a current European Champion in my age group and even held a Guinness World Record from 2016 to 2019—something that always surprises people when they first meet me.
