Get to know Matheis

Hello! I’m Matheis Züger. My skiing journey started when I was five, with my dad guiding me down the slopes during our holiday adventures. Although I didn’t grow up in the mountains, skiing became a cherished tradition, and I spent a few weeks each year honing my skills, including taking courses with the Danish Ski School.

These days, you’ll find me embracing the thrill of freeride and backcountry skiing with my dad and older sister. Skiing isn’t just a hobby for me; it’s a passion I’m eager to share. That’s why I became an instructor—to spread the joy and watch people improve every day on the slopes.

What might surprise you is that I’m half Danish and half Dutch. I’m proud to be a BSI 1 and BSI 2 instructor through the Danish Ski School system, and I’ve been lucky to teach at incredible resorts like St Anton and Lech, offering lessons in both English and Danish.

Outside of skiing, I’m a trained sergeant in the Danish Army, which has taught me discipline and leadership. In the summer, I love hiking and camping in the woods, basking in nature’s beauty. I also enjoy playing padel tennis and practising gymnastics to stay fit and energized year-round.
