Free Ski Lifts

There are a number of beginner lifts in Courchevel which do not require payment to access. These include:

  • Petit-Moriond Gondola and Mickey Drag in 1650
  • Bouc Blanc Magic Carpets near La Tania
  • Magic Carpets in Le Praz

Group Lessons: What lift pass is required?

Most of our group lessons in Courchevel 1850 require the Courchevel Valley Pass.

If guests plan to explore other parts of the Three Valleys outside of lessons, to resorts such as Meribel and Val Thorens, it may be worth purchasing the Three Valleys lift pass. However, this is at the discretion of our guests. We advise that you are able to ski Blue runs confidently to get the most from this pass.

Courchevel 1850 Lift Passes for Pedestrians

For those who don’t want to ski or snowboard, it is still possible to access the best of what Courchevel has to offer, such as snowshoeing, excellent alpine restaurants and breathtaking views. These can all be accessed with the Pedestrian pass.

Courchevel 1850 lift passes for pedestrians are a great way to explore for those who aren’t skiing. The lifts that are available to access in Les 3 Vallees can be found on the Skipass website.

Snow Insurance / Carre Neige

Snow insurance, known as Carre Neige, can be purchased for €3.70 per day or €50 for the entire season. The insurance is directly linked to your lift pass and covers mountain recovery and emergency medical cover in case of an accident. Mountain recovery without insurance is known to be very costly.

Snow Insurance will cover

  • Search, Rescue and Evacuation,
  • First medical transport costs
  • Repatriation assistance
  • Reimbursement of emergency medical expenses,
  • Reimbursement of ski lift passes.
