Private lessons for both skiing and snowboarding start at age 3. At age 4, your child can join a group ski lesson. We have snowboarding groups available for those from age 10.

Our Whippersnappers groups can have between 2 and 6 children.

Our Wallabies to Pro Ride groups can have between 2 and 8 children.

All children taking group lessons with New Generation must be suitably dressed.

• Helmets are compulsory for all children.
• We advise layers so children can easily add or remove them as needed, as children can get cold quickly.
• The glare from the snow can be intense, even on cloudy days. So, make sure they wear sunglasses or goggles at all times and high SPF suncream on any exposed skin.
• We also suggest you give them a snack and some money for hot chocolate. For lessons longer than 2 hours, we usually stop for a break.
• Check they have their lift pass in a left-hand pocket before you leave.

We’ll usually stop for a break halfway through for children’s ski lessons longer than 2 hours. Give your child money to get a hot chocolate and a snack in their pocket if they get hungry.

We do our best during booking to prevent this. But, if the instructor feels your child needs a different group, we’ll move them to a better group for their age and ability. Every group is different, and our instructor’s job is to match the groups to the best they can on ability. Do not worry if your child ends up in a different group than the one they started.

No. Kids learn and progress at different speeds. How physical kids are also can vary. Adding to this, growth spurts and development may further complicate the process.

It isn’t always the case that kids will linearly move through their badges. It is usual for children to stay in the same group for more than one year, especially with Bombers and above. Our primary aim is to impart a love and enthusiasm for skiing safely. Our instructors are experts. They’re professionals. They know that patience and correct practice are key to progress.

They can go in the same group if they have the same ability and meet the group requirements. If they’re different ages and levels, we would advise against it. They would both need to go in the lower-level group. This would hamper the progress and fun of the better child. Our groups are all friendly and used to managing this situation.

Our instructor is there to help your child settle in. They ensure the child feels comfortable in the group. So after the first morning, this worry usually vanishes. By the end of the week, they’ll have made loads of new friends.

We don’t offer any full-day children’s group lessons. Our guests like the 4.5-hour format. It gives them plenty of time to ski alone. Then, they get a few hours in the afternoon to ski with their children.

If you’d like your child to be in lessons all day, you can add on an afternoon session or private lesson.

We hand-pick our instructors. They must be incredible at teaching and working with people. They must also love the sport and speak English well.

No, you’ll need to buy a lift pass separately.

Yes, we always try to ensure children of similar ability and age are in the same group. That’s why it’s important for parents to read our level guidelines carefully.

This is tricky as no two groups are the same and progress at different rates. Poles usually come free with ski rental, so take them even if they don’t use them. Whippersnappers won’t need poles.

Our instructors are used to teaching children to ski. They know that children can quickly get tired or cold. They will consider that when planning their lessons. In all lessons over 2 hours, we add a break for this reason. But, if the child or instructor feels they cannot continue, we’ll contact you. Then, we’ll ask you to collect them. This is why we need a mobile contact for all parents whose children are taking lessons with us. So please make sure you carry your phone during the day.

All children receive a ski passport and medal at the end of the week. The instructor will assess your child’s performance during the week and award them a level based on it.

We base our lessons on three cornerstones: safety, fun, and improvement. We always aim to achieve all three. The safety of the kids is very important. We’ll take all reasonable precautions to ensure that children learn in a safe way that fits their abilities.

We must foster a love for the sport. So, the week must also be fun for the child. We add challenging activities. They demand concentration and coordination. We also add fun tasks, like learning to jump. We do this throughout the week to build enthusiasm, confidence, and joy in each person. Each group also has specific aims that correspond to particular badge levels.

We’re most concerned with your child’s safety. We have strict procedures to keep them safe.

• All children wear bibs to make them identifiable. Each bib has a number that our team records next to the child’s name.
• We also use a stringent signing-in and out procedure. When you drop off your child on the first day, we ask for details of anyone who might pick them up during the week. This is so we can ensure they only leave with a nominated adult.

Dropping your child off in ski school for the first time can be scary for parents. You’re not alone in how you’re feeling.

Our instructors in France are highly qualified. They underwent rigorous training for several years to become the best in their field. Furthermore, all our instructors are certified in first aid.

Please keep a positive attitude. Avoid passing on any nervousness to your child. This may make the experience harder for them. We will send you the name of your child’s instructor the day before the lesson. We suggest you share it with your child. This will help them feel more at ease when they meet their instructor. Our instructors are experienced and skilled. You can trust that your child will get the best guidance and support during their lesson.
