Get to know Andre

Hi, I’m Andrea Bormolini, but you can call me Andre. My journey on skis began at the tender age of three, thanks to my dad who first introduced me to the slopes. Growing up in the picturesque Livigno ski resort, skiing quickly became second nature to me. I spent my early years competing in alpine skiing regional championships until the age of 13. Afterward, I discovered the thrill of freestyle, freeride, and snowboarding—disciplines I embraced for fun, even though I never competed in them. These days, you’ll often find me enjoying freestyle and telemark skiing in my free time.

One of my fondest skiing memories is stepping into the world of freestyle. It was an exhilarating new challenge that pushed my skills and creativity. Despite a few childhood mishaps, including several broken bones from alpine skiing, I found my stride in freestyle without further injury—a surprise to many given its reputation for risk.

My passion for skiing naturally led me to become a ski instructor. I love helping others see skiing through my eyes and guiding them to find their own joy on the slopes. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch someone, unfamiliar with skiing, learn and grow under my instruction. I hold the Italian national qualification and have been teaching for two years across the beautiful resorts of Avoriaz, Morzine, and Les Gets. I offer lessons in piste skiing, off-piste skiing, ski touring, and telemark, and I’m proud to teach in English, Italian, and Spanish.

I spend my summers working in restaurants in my hometown, staying active with various sports. I’m an enthusiast of highlining, football, running, and skateboarding—activities that keep my adrenaline pumping even off the slopes.
