Get to know Jonas
Hello! I’m Jonas Gram-Nielsen, and I have been skiing since I was two years old. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, where mountains are non-existent, my love for skiing was ignited by my dad, an exceptional skier himself. From chasing him down the slopes as a child to experiencing my own thrilling ski adventures, my passion for the sport has only grown.
I’ve skied extensively from an early age and pursued winter seasons in the Alps before embarking on back-to-back seasons in South America and New Zealand. My skiing preferences lean towards freeride, big mountain, and backcountry skiing, where the thrill of untouched powder and majestic landscapes fuel my excitement.
Some of my best skiing memories include bottomless powder skiing in Japan, heli-skiing under the midnight sun above the Arctic Circle, and ski touring on active volcanoes in Chile’s lake region. These experiences have deeply enriched my life and motivated me to share my love for skiing with others.
Why did I become an instructor? Simple. I wanted to inspire others to progress in their skiing and share the exhilaration that comes with it. My favourite part of being an instructor is spending every day in the great outdoors and helping people overcome their fears and challenges on the slopes.
In the summer months, you can find me skiing in the Southern Hemisphere, either in South America or New Zealand. During my brief time off the snow, I enjoy road biking, mountain biking, climbing, and running. I also treasure the time spent with friends and family back home in Copenhagen.
A fun fact about me? I shed tears of joy at every major sports achievement and have a deep love for Celine Dion’s music!
