Get to know Matt

Hello! I’m Mattia Bezzi, but you can call me Matt. My journey on skis began when I was just three years old, learning from passionate ski instructors and later honing my skills with ski coaches. Growing up in the picturesque region of Paganella, Trentino, Italy, I developed a deep love for the mountains and skiing, which has been an integral part of my life.

While I did compete for a few years, my true passion lies in mastering the Italian skiing technique and exploring the intricate art of on-piste carving with the ‘L7 Curva Italia’ technique. On fresh powder days, though rare in recent years, I love the thrill of skiing downhill off-trail to maximize my runs. My fondest skiing memories are those spent with my father, which truly cemented my love for this exhilarating sport.

Becoming a ski instructor was a natural progression for me. The idea of working in the most magnificent office—the mountains—was a dream come true. I delight in helping people achieve their skiing goals, and there’s nothing more rewarding than witnessing the ‘Wow effect’ when clients suddenly improve with just a simple exercise. It’s this joy and shared passion that fuels my desire to eventually train as a national ski instructor, aiming to master and teach the highest level of Italian ski technique.

When the snow melts, I shift gears and enjoy my summer break by travelling and exploring new places. Basketball remains a beloved sport, a nod to my younger years, and you’ll often find me playing with friends at the local courts. I’m also eager to embrace new adventures, having recently discovered a love for surfing—something I plan to pursue further.

Currently, I teach piste skiing at the beautiful resort of Courchevel, and I’m happy to offer lessons in both English and Italian. As I work towards completing my degree in Business Informatics, I look forward to continuing my journey in both academic and skiing pursuits.
