Get to know Zoe
Hi, I’m Zoe, and my life on skis began at the tender age of three. My skiing journey started in various European ski schools where language barriers were just part of the adventure, as I was often the sole British child in the group. Afternoons were spent on the slopes with my parents, nurturing a love for skiing during holidays in France, Italy, and Austria. In my teenage years, I returned to Scotland and spent weekends skiing, solidifying my passion for the sport.
My teaching career took off in Scotland back in 1985, and since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world, sharing my love for skiing with others. In 2001, I settled in the 3 Valleys with New Generation, where I’ve been deeply involved in training and examining instructors for both the British and New Zealand systems. A highlight of my career was representing Britain as part of the 1995 Demo Team in Japan.
In my free time, I find immense joy in the mountains, whether it’s a leisurely day on the piste with friends or seeking fresh tracks off-piste. Heliskiing in New Zealand stands out as one of my best skiing memories, a testament to the thrilling adventures skiing has brought me.
Becoming a ski instructor felt like a natural path for me; sport was always my calling. My parents gifted me an instructor course for my 18th birthday, and that pivotal experience led to a job offer and a lifelong career filled with passion and purpose. I love breaking down barriers for my clients, helping them explore the mountains and discover new terrains. Witnessing their joy and newfound love for the mountains is incredibly rewarding.
Outside of winter, I spend my summers road biking through France and across Europe or discovering new spots to paddleboard. A little-known fact about me is that I once spent summers chauffeuring celebrities at Scottish golf events, even driving them to the front door of Edinburgh Castle to be met by the Queen.
With 40 years of experience and qualifications such as SKI BASI Level 4 and SKI NZSIA Level 3, I continue to teach primarily in Méribel, Courchevel, and La Tania, sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for piste skiing in English. My journey on skis is one I cherish deeply, and I look forward to many more adventures on the slopes.
