Stay with a group of solo skiers

There are various companies that specialize in accommodation for single travelers. Find a chalet that sells rooms individually (with no single supplement) and you are likely to find other solos that are looking to meet new people.

Pistepals provides ski holidays for singles in Morzine. These are intended for sociable people who are looking to meet outgoing travelers to ski and snowboard with. Whether your partner doesn’t ski, you’re looking for an another ski holiday after the family get away, or just want to meet new people – these chalets would work for you. Highlife is another company that specializes in solo ski trips. They are located in Meribel, Morzine & Val d’Isere and offer catered chalets with a social dining experience where you can enjoy sharing ski stories over a glass of wine.

Take a lesson

If solo skiing all day every day isn’t for you, group lessons and guided days are another way to enjoy the mountain with others. Our adult group lessons are just 2 hours a day throughout the week so you still have time to venture out on your own afterwards. If you’re keen to improve your technique, build your confidence & get some tips, check out our Adult Group Lessons.

Go on a ski adventure

Heliskiing or Reverse Heliskiing: If you want an even bigger adventure on your ski holiday, consider joining a heliski or heliboard trip. Heliski trips take up 4-6 people and it can be a great way to ski with like-minded skiers & boarders in a small group setting. Our friends at Valheliski offer half-day, full day or multi-day heliskiing and reverse heliskiing adventures in Espace Killy, Paradiski, and the Three Valleys areas (amongst others), so you are sure to find one that suits you.

Ski Touring: Valheliski also offer a Tarentaise Tour – a full day’s ski touring through the Vanoise National Park. You traverse through 5 ski resorts & cover over 70km of terrain. The tour heads out in groups of 6 – perfect for some camaraderie during a new challenge.

Find ski friends on social media

Social media platforms are offering new ways to find ski friends. SkiPals is a free platform for single skiers and boarders to find others to join their group before their holiday. This way you can take advantage of group discounts, share transfer costs, etc. It also lets you rent out a spare room in your chalet or sell a last minute cancelation in your group. Another tool is a new app called GoSnow which allows you to find other skiers and riders in your area. Input your ski level, where you’re located and your next upcoming trip and the app will let you know who is skiing nearby you as well as upcoming events. You can connect with other skiers and message each other right on the app. Download the app while it’s still free!

Whatever your situation may be, don’t let lack of ski partners stop you from going on the ski holiday you want! You can always find someone to team up with. The atmosphere in resorts is friendly and open because everyone is there for one thing only – to enjoy the mountains!
