Part of the famous Paradiski area, Les Arcs, gives you access to an impressive 425 kilometres of slopes. It’s made up of four villages—Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950, and Arc 2000—each with its own vibe to suit different tastes.

Arc 1600, the original village, exudes a cosy charm that’s perfect for families or anyone seeking relaxation. Its compact size results in shorter lift lines, allowing you to maximize your time on the slopes. Thanks to the funicular, accessing this gem from Bourg-Saint-Maurice is a breeze. However, if vibrant nightlife is what you seek, this may not be the ideal spot for you.

In contrast, Arc 1800 is the largest and most vibrant village, perfect for those who thrive in a lively après-ski atmosphere. Packed with bars, restaurants, and shops, it offers ample entertainment options. Arc 1950 is renowned for its picturesque pedestrian streets, seamlessly blending luxury with convenience. It’s an excellent choice for families or anyone desiring a premium experience, especially with its ski-in/ski-out access. At the highest altitude, Arc 2000 guarantees exceptional snow conditions and is a haven for advanced skiers. It features some of the most challenging runs in the region. While nightlife is subdued here, the emphasis is firmly on skiing, appealing to those who prioritize the slopes.

Getting to Les Arcs is straightforward, with Bourg-Saint-Maurice serving as the main entry point by train. A scenic funicular ride ascends to Arc 1600, and if you’re driving, the resort is well-connected, with parking available in each village. The nearest airports—Geneva, Lyon, and Chambéry—offer regular shuttle services for hassle-free transportation. The snow in Les Arcs is reliably maintained by snow cannons, ensuring excellent coverage throughout the season. Arc 2000’s elevation guarantees fantastic snow quality, and the diverse terrain across the villages caters to all skill levels, from beginners to experts.

The resort’s focus on sustainability is impressive, with eco-friendly initiatives that really boost its charm. With a range of villages and a huge ski area, Les Arcs has something for everyone, no matter your skiing style or skill level. Whether you’re heading out with family and friends or going solo, Les Arcs guarantees a fantastic alpine adventure.

Skiing in Les Arcs

Les Arcs is a skier’s paradise, perfect for all skill levels, with a wide range of pistes for beginners, intermediates, experts, and off-piste lovers. If you’re starting out, check out the Mille8 area, where the gentle slopes are great for practising turns, plus the well-groomed pistes with easy gradients help build your confidence. Another awesome spot for new skiers is the Les Villards piste near Arc 1800—it offers a smooth descent and easy access to village amenities and ski schools. The Cabri run, with its wide, green layout and stunning mountain views, creates a relaxed and safe vibe for beginners to soak up the beauty of the Alps.

Intermediate skiers will find plenty of options to level up their skills. The Belvedere run is a scenic blue piste with varied terrain, perfect for those looking for a bit of a challenge while enjoying breathtaking views. The Grizzly area mixes red and blue runs, providing a balanced and fun challenge. For a thrilling ride through the forest, the Edelweiss piste is popular, offering twists and turns for intermediates eager to explore diverse terrain.

Expert skiers will face some serious challenges at Les Arcs. The Aiguille Rouge run drops from the highest point in the resort and is a black piste with steep drops and exciting turns. The Comborciere run is known for its steep gradients and moguls, making for a tough descent that will challenge even the most seasoned skiers.

And for off-piste enthusiasts, Les Arcs is like an adventurous playground. The Malgovert area is famous for its untouched powder and gorgeous scenery, offering some of the best off-piste skiing in the resort. The Aiguille Grive promises challenging terrain, ideal for advanced skiers chasing fresh tracks. For a varied off-piste experience, the Croix des Verdons route mixes open bowls with tree-lined sections, ensuring an exciting exploration of the natural landscape.
