About our Ski Instructor Training

Learn from the best
World Class Coaches.

Each coach on our Ski Instructor Courses brings a unique insight and skill set to the team. We carefully select coaches from various backgrounds to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of skiing. The best instructors are dynamic, and our coaches will expose you to a range of teaching styles, technical concepts, and learning progressions. This approach equips you with a versatile toolkit, moving beyond a one-size-fits-all method.

Our team includes British, Austrian, Danish, and German examiners, former National Team members and FIS athletes. They combine the latest innovations with time-tested techniques, ensuring a well-rounded, forward-thinking approach to instruction. The ability to tailor your style and employ diverse teaching techniques is crucial, whether for personal development or aiding a guest’s breakthrough.

This adaptability and expertise have been the foundation of our success over the last 25 years.

Unique Development Pathway
Train with a Ski School.

Unlike other programs often run by travel agents, we offer hands-on training and employment opportunities within our ski school.

We have a unique training pathway built into the heart of our business, providing opportunities to work and train at every stage of your career. Our Verbier and St Anton schools offer subsidised training programmes and work opportunities for Level 1, 2 and 3 students.

Once fully qualified, you can join any of our teams across France, Switzerland and Austria. You don’t have to stop there. Our students have gone on to manage our schools in-resort, open new New Generation locations and work with us on summer projects.

Tried and Trusted
25 years of Experience.

Since 1998, we’ve been helping guests create the moments that matter, from parents making the first turns with their children to off-piste escapism for advanced skiers.

We started New Generation because we believed that snowsports could be taught in a better way.

A way that supports people’s goals and ambitions, makes their holiday better and helps them fall in love with the mountains. We wanted to share our expertise to make the sport more accessible and provide the support and guidance that was missing when we learnt to ski.

Our ski instructor courses are an evolution of this goal. We want to make careers in snowsports more accessible, providing the impartial support and guidance that was missing when we started our careers. No high-pressure sales techniques, no job guarantees followed by an asterisk. Just honest advice and support to help you find the right programme, with us or another supplier.

Ski Instructor Courses FAQ’s

Ski instructor qualifications are split into multiple levels. Experienced skiers can often achieve their level 1 qualification in just a few weeks. The level 1 ski instructor qualification is entry-level, and you’ll mainly teach beginners and children.

It’s common for trainee ski instructors to do a combined Level 1 and 2 course, which takes around ten weeks to complete. The Level 2 qualification is often considered the entry point for full-time ski school teams.

If you would like to make a career as a ski instructor, your training won’t stop there. You’ll need to continue training to achieve your Level 3 or Level 4 ski instructor qualifications.

See our complete guide on becoming a ski instructor for more details.

Yes and No. With the right support, training and a little time, most skiers could achieve the level-one ski instructor qualification. With these qualifications, you can teach beginners and children the basics of skiing and become a ski instructor.

However, if you plan on making a career in Snowsports, you’ll want to continue your instructor training until you’re at least a level three ski instructor. The skill required to achieve your level three is exponentially higher than that required to achieve your level one or two, and it is a challenging qualification.

No, we never guarantee a job to students on our course. Every student has the opportunity to interview to join our instructor team. In order to be offered a job, you need to be successful in the interview, have successfully passed your ski instructor exams and have the right to work in the country you wish to be employed.

Our most popular 10-week ski instructor courses start at £9950. However, this is just one way to become a ski instructor. Depending on where you want to work, your skill level, and a few other factors, you can start your ski instructor training for less.

Our team are available to take you through all the options and find a program that is the perfect fit for you.

A ski instructor course can be a rewarding career break. Nothing beats skiing every day and it is a great way to spend the winter season. If you want to ski every day but don’t want to become a ski instructor, we also have Off-Piste and Performance courses which could be a good fit.

As with all jobs, your pay increases as you progress through your career, gain more experience and get higher-level qualifications.

In Europe, pay for a level two instructor varies between €15 and €25 an hour. You can often earn a little more in Switzerland, but the cost of living is higher.

Once fully qualified to level four or equivalent, you can earn Fr.60 an hour in Switzerland or up to €70 an hour in France. The hourly rate in Austria is a little lower, but there are lots of other benefits which offset this.

See our full guide on how much you get paid as a ski instructor for more details.

Our ski instructor courses will be primarily run in English. The better your language skills the easier it will be to find work immediately after the course and in the future. Most ski schools will look for instructors who speak 2 or 3 lanaguages.

We work with multiple qualification providers. Including BASI, Snowsports Austria and Den Danske Skishole.

Our team will help you chose the best course and qualifications based on your future goals and ambitions.
